The easiest way to reach Coney Island is the North East Line to Punggol Coast station, then a walk of about 20 to 30 minutes to the West Entrance. Buses, taxis and bikes also work, and all routes end on foot, since no cars are allowed on the island.
This guide covers how to get to Coney Island Singapore by MRT, bus, taxi and bike. Many searches ask simply how to get to Coney Island, and the answer depends on where you start. If you are in Singapore, the MRT route below is the simplest. If you are coming from the airport or the city centre, the same MRT route applies once you reach the North East Line. Every route ends with a walk across a bridge. NParks confirms there are no carparks on the island, and no vehicles are allowed.
How to Get to Coney Island Singapore by MRT
Take the North East Line to Punggol Coast station (NE18), the northern end of the line. The station opened on 10 December 2024 and sits under the NEXUS building in the Punggol Digital District, next to Punggol Coast Mall. Leave by Exit 2 toward the Civic Commons, then follow signs to Punggol Promenade. From there, walk about 20 to 30 minutes to the Coney Island Park West Entrance. Published walk times vary from about 12 to 30 minutes depending on route and pace, so allow 30 minutes.
The walk itself is flat and mostly along the waterfront, with views of the Punggol waterway. It is sunny, so carry water and wear a hat. If you arrive before the park opens at 7am, wait at the promenade rather than at the gate. The first train to HarbourFront leaves Punggol Coast at 5:39am on weekdays and Saturdays, and 5:59am on Sundays and public holidays, while the last train back leaves at 11:25pm. Use the station toilets and the mall before you head to the island, since facilities on the island are limited.
By Bus: Punggol Station and Buses 84G and 84W
From Punggol Bus Interchange, board Bus 84G or 84W and get off at Punggol Road End (Punggol Point). From the stop, walk about 10 to 15 minutes, or about 500 metres, along the Punggol Promenade Nature Walk to the West Entrance. This route suits visitors who are already in Punggol or who want a shorter walk than the MRT route.
Buses 84G and 84W also serve the Punggol Coast station area, so check the destination board before you board. If you miss the Punggol Road End stop, stay on until the next stop and walk back along the promenade. Keep small change or a contactless card ready for the fare, and check current bus times before you travel, since schedules can change.
By Taxi, Ride-Hailing or Car
If you come by taxi or ride-hailing, set your drop-off to Punggol Settlement or the West Entrance. Drivers know both. From there, walk in across the bridge. There are no carparks on the island, so if you drive, park at Punggol Settlement. Its carpark sits about 700 metres from the West Entrance. Do not expect to park at the gate: the nearest carpark is at the Settlement, and the island itself is for walkers and cyclists only.
From Changi Airport, ride the MRT and change onto the North East Line to Punggol Coast, then follow the MRT route above. Give yourself plenty of time. The park gates close at 7pm, and a late arrival can mean a rushed visit or a missed entry.
West Entrance or East Entrance
Use the West Entrance for most visits. It sits near Punggol Promenade, with the nearest carpark, bike rental and toilets close by, and the walk in is along the waterfront. The Coney Island East Entrance sits near Lorong Halus Wetland and suits visitors who are already at that end of the park. If you leave by the East Entrance, plan your onward trip first: there is no bus stop at that exit, and the walk toward Pasir Ris is long and hot.
The island has two bridges, one at each end. The Coney Island bridge at the west end connects to Punggol Promenade, while the east bridge connects toward Pasir Ris Coast Industrial Park. Both bridges are for walkers and cyclists only. If you are unsure which end to start from, start west. You can always walk the full length of the island and leave by the east end if your plans point that way.
Cycling In and Bike Rental
You can cycle to the island and onto it. Ride along the park connector to Punggol Promenade, park your bike at the bicycle lots at either entrance, or ride in and use the island's main path. Only non-motorised bicycles are allowed on the island. If you do not have a bike, rent one near Punggol Settlement before you enter. Jomando Adventure and Recreations at The Punggol Settlement rents bikes for all ages. Guides list about S$6 to S$10 per hour depending on the shop and bike type, so check the price at the shop. Rental shops may open later on weekdays, so confirm the opening time for an early start.
