Editorial Standards
RoamFeast is a travel, food and festival blog. This page sets out the standards behind everything we publish: our editorial policy, how we fact-check, how we handle corrections.
Editorial policy
What we publish
We publish destination guides, itineraries, recipes and festival coverage, researched and written to help readers plan with information they can trust. RoamFeast publishes guides only. We do not sell tours, tickets, bookings or travel packages, and nothing on this site is a booking service.
Who writes for RoamFeast
Every page carries a named author from our editorial team. Each author's biography, on their profile and on our Contact page team section, describes what they cover. The editorial team is accountable for everything published under its bylines, including older pages, which we review and update on a rolling basis.
How we choose topics
Topics come from reader questions, search demand and seasonal relevance. We do not accept payment for coverage, rankings or placement, and no destination, business or product can pay to be featured or described more favourably.
Sourcing and accuracy
Our guides are built from official sources wherever a fact can change, including tourism boards, government sites, park authorities, event organisers and venues. How individual facts are checked is set out under Fact-checking below. If we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out or say on the page that it is unverified.
Updates
Travel information changes. We revisit pages when dates, prices, rules or routes change, and pages show when they were last updated. Errors reported by readers are handled under Corrections below.
Fact-checking
RoamFeast publishes practical information that readers plan real trips, meals and journeys around, so facts have to be right.
Our sources
Official sources come first: event organisers, government and ministry websites, official tourism boards, park and transport authorities, and venue websites. Reputable reporting comes second. Listing and aggregator sites are never the only source for a date, a price or a rule.
What we check
Dates, prices, opening hours, transport details, entry and visa rules, and statistics each need a named source behind them. A number with no source behind it does not go on the page. Where sources disagree, we follow the official one and, where it matters, note the difference.
Checked dates
Time-sensitive facts are verified close to publication and re-checked when a page is reviewed. Where a fact rests on press reporting rather than an official notice, for example a festival date that has not yet been formally announced, the page says so openly instead of presenting it as settled.
When we cannot verify something
The claim is left out, clearly qualified on the page, or the page is held back. We do not publish invented prices, ratings, visitor numbers or programmes, and we do not present estimates as official figures.
Corrections
We work hard to keep RoamFeast accurate, but mistakes can happen, and details such as dates, prices and opening hours also change after publication.
How to report an error
Email [email protected] with the page address, what you believe is wrong, and, if you have it, the correct information or the source it comes from. Reports from readers are a genuine part of how this site stays accurate, and we read every one.
What we do next
We check the claim against the original source. If the page is wrong, we correct it. For significant corrections, such as a wrong date, price, safety detail or access rule, we add a short note at the end of the page recording what changed and when. If the page is right and the report rests on a misunderstanding, we reply and explain the source we relied on.
Corrections and updates
A correction fixes something that was wrong when published. An update changes something that was right but has since changed, such as a new ticket price or a moved festival date. Both are made the same way, by checking the current official source, and pages show their last updated date.
